Mechatronics Unit, Removing and Installing

Mechatronics unit, removing and installing, 09L, 6 Spd. A/T AWD

Note:

Always replace mechatronics unit if contaminated or faulty.

General repair instructions.

^

Read the rules for cleanliness when working on the automatic transmission.

Removing

CAUTION:  Follow steps required when disconnecting battery.

With ignition switched off, disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

-

Remove oil pan.

-

Remove ATF strainer.

-

Disconnect 16-pin electrical connector - 2 - at transmission by folding out release tab and turning fastener cap counterclockwise.

Note:

- Item 1 - can be disregarded.

Touch vehicle Ground (GND) with your hand (without gloves) to discharge any static electricity.

CAUTION:  
^

Before touching or removing the mechatronics unit, always discharge any static electricity by touching vehicle Ground (GND) or other Ground
(GND) object with your hand.

^

Never touch contacts in 16-pin connector by hand, as static discharge would damage the control module and mechatronics unit.

Unfasten retaining clip - arrow - for wiring harness connector on outside of transmission housing.
