Front Information Display Control Head Control Module, MMI Basic

The Front Information Display Control Head Control Module is located in the glove compartment.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Radio Removal Tool (T10057)

‹› Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

Turn off all electrical consumers.

-

Remove ignition key.

-

If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine. 

Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.

Removing

-

Open glove box.

-

Insert two hooks of Radio Removal Tool (T10057 ) into the release slits on the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module (J523)
until they engage. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.

Remove the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module (J523) from the mounting frame.

-

Pull Radio Removal Tool (T10057) out while pressing on locking tabs on Front Information Display Control Head Control Module (J523).

-

Disconnect all connectors on the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module (J523).

Attach the protective cap for cable connector ( VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector -  2 -.
