CAUTION!
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge
static electricity". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Pull the cover as far forward as possible in the side airbag area in order to be able to remove side airbag.

-

Remove side airbag. Refer to => [ Driver Side Airbag Igniter or Front Passenger Side Airbag Igniter ] See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air
Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Side Airbags

Remove the airbag from the pocket sewn into the cover and engage the airbag in the backrest frame.

-

Reach from the rear side of the backrest under the upholstery and find the release button - 5 -.

-

Press the release button in the - direction of the arrow  -.

-

Hold release button - 5 - down in this position. 

-

Remove the upholstery with the headrest - 1 - upward from the backrest frame - 3 -.

‹› A second technician is needed to remove the upholstery with the headrest from the backrest frame.
