Front muffler

CAUTION!
Danger of damaging the decoupling element.

‹›  Decoupling element must not be bent more than 10°.

‹› Do not load decoupling element on cable.

‹› Do not damage wire mesh at decoupling element.

‹› Install exhaust system free of stress, refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] See: Service and Repair/Exhaust System Components, A5

Front clamping sleeve

‹› Before tightening, align exhaust system tension-free, refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] See: Service and Repair/Exhaust System

Components, A5 Cabriolet and A4 Wagon

‹› Installed location => [ Installed Position of Front Clamping Sleeve ] 

‹› Tighten bolts evenly

Nut

‹› 23 Nm

Center muffler

‹› Original equipment as one unit with rear mufflers. For repairs, replace each separately.

‹› For removal, remove the diagonal braces, refer to => [ Diagonal Braces ] 

‹› Separating point, refer to => [ Center Muffler and Rear Muffler, Separating ] See: Service and Repair/Exhaust System Components, A5

‹› Install exhaust system free of stress, refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] See: Service and Repair/Exhaust System Components, A5

Right rear clamping sleeve

‹› For individual replacement of center and rear mufflers

‹› Installed location, refer to => [ Installed Position of Rear Clamping Sleeve ] 

‹› Before tightening, align exhaust system tension-free, refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] See: Service and Repair/Exhaust System

Components, A5 Cabriolet and A4 Wagon

‹› Tighten threaded connections evenly.

Left rear muffler

‹› Original equipment as one unit with center muffler and tailpipe

‹› For removal, remove the diagonal braces, refer to => [ Diagonal Braces ] 

‹› In case of repairs, center muffler end muffler and tailpipe should be replaced individually
