‹› Always transport and store driveshaft in extended position.
Install driveshaft.
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:
‹› Remove the old, dry High-Temperature Grease from the CV joints and the driveshaft flanges. Fill with the exact same amount of new High
Temperature Grease (G 000 633).
‹› Always remove any remaining locking fluid from thread bores in drive flanges for transmission driveshaft and for rear final drive. Cleaning can be
performed with a thread tap. Otherwise, the securing bolts can shear while screwing in.
‹› After removal of the driveshaft from the rear final drive, do not reinstall additional balance washer (thicker washer) that may be between washer
and bolt head.
‹› Always replace securing bolts for driveshaft (self-locking bolts).
‹› Note the installation position of the driveshaft: The central CV joint is located behind the center bearing and towards the rear final drive.
‹› Make sure that the markings on flange for driveshaft - arrow A - and for rear final drive - arrow B - line up.
-
Check the driveshaft seals on the transmission flange or rear final drive flange for damage and replace if necessary.
-
Insert the driveshaft and attach with new CV joint bolts.
-
Install the bolts - arrows - just far enough so that the center bearing can still be moved.
