Driveshaft, Removing from Rear Final Drive and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Counterhold Tool (T10172) with Adapters (T10172/5)

‹› High Temperature Grease (G 000 633) 

‹› Refer to notes. Refer to => [ Driveshaft Assembly Overview ] See: Driveshaft Assembly Overview. 

‹› A twin pillar vehicle hoist should be used when working on the driveshaft. 

Remove the driveshaft from the rear final drive.

‹› Flex joint in front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10°, otherwise it may be damaged.

Loosen the clamping sleeves - 1 - and - 2  - and disconnect the exhaust system.

-

Tie up the exhaust pipe(s) to the floor panel.

‹› A second technician is needed to remove the rear section of the exhaust system.

Remove rear section of exhaust system.

-

Check whether there is a colored marking on the driveshaft and at flange/driveshaft on the rear final drive - arrow A - and -  arrow B -.
