DTC 00003 Stored in Telematics System DTC Memory

Condition

DTC 00003 "Control Module - Faulty" is stored in Telematics System DTC memory, and the red system status LED in the Telematics Control Head
remains on.

May be caused when deactivating the instrument cluster "Transport Mode" during the PDI. The brief increase in CAN-Bus traffic may cause internal
communications in the Telephone/Telematics Control Module (TTCM) to be interrupted.

Service

-

Check Telematics System DTC memory after deactivating instrument cluster "Transport Mode" and erase DTC 00003 if present.

Procedure:

Instrument cluster "Transport Mode" must be deactivated.

-

Connect the VAS 5051 or VAS 5052 Diagnostic tool.

-

Switch ignition ON.

-

Enter address word 75 - "Telematics".

-

From VAS 5051 Start-up screen, select "Vehicle self diagnosis".

-

Perform function 02 "Interrogate Fault Memory".

If DTC 00003 is present:

-

Perform function 05 - "Erase Fault Memory".

-

Cycle ignition ON and OFF a minimum of two times, waiting approximately 30 seconds between each cycle.

Check Fault Memory again. If DIC 00003 is present:

-

Perform function 05 - "Erase Fault Memory" and exit VAS 5051 tester function.

-

Switch ignition ON and confirm operation of the green LED in the Telematics Control Head.

Notes:

The DTC condition described above only occurs after the instrument cluster "Transport Mode" is deactivated during the PDI, and does not
indicate a Telephone/Telematics Control Module (TTCM) malfunction. Post PDI Telematics functions are not affected. DO NOT replace the
TTCM.

The green LED in the Telematics control Head must be functional prior to customer registration for OnStar(R) services.
