Navigation System - False CAN Communication Faults

Vehicle Information

Condition

No customer complaint, but in the fault protocol of the Navigation 4, one or several sporadic communication faults about other control units are logged.
The function of the navigation system is not affected.

Technical Background

When starting the vehicle, the battery voltage may drop so far that the communication on the data bus is briefly disrupted.

Production Solution

No change.

Service

Ignore and erase the fault code entries if there is no customer complaint. A replacement of the navigation system is not necessary. Unnecessarily replaced
systems will be re-debited.
