Moving vehicle to initial position for wheel alignment

All suspension versions

Note:  On account of different wheel alignment platforms, it may be necessary to raise the front axle of the vehicle in order to install the spacer gauge
VAG 1925. After it has been lowered, bounce the vehicle.

Insert spacer gauge VAG 1925 with adapters VAG 1925/3 or VAG 1925/4 and screw out the two spindles, until they just make contact with the
front bolts -arrow- of the subframe.
This must not cause the vehicle to be raised.

Vehicle is now in initial position.

Vehicles with sports suspension 1 BE, 1 BV

Position axle lift at front jacking points and raise vehicle.

Position adapters VAG 1925/6 on adapters VAG 1925/3 or VAG 1925/4 of spacer gauge.

Lower vehicle onto adapters.

Vehicle is now in initial position.

For all suspension versions except 1 BE, 1 BV
In this position, the wheel alignment program checks whether the toe-in value per wheel corresponds to a specification of + 10' ± 30' (rough
pre-setting). If necessary, toe-in is to be corrected by altering length of tie rod.

If correction is necessary, this is indicated by wheel alignment program.
