Insert separating tool in annular groove of bearing inner race -arrow- and pre-tension with spindle.

Note:  Use commercially available separating tool, e.g. Kukko 15-17.

Press bearing inner race off wheel hub.

When pressing in, pressure piece -VW 511- should only rest on bearing inner race.

Installing

-

Tightening torque of cap screws -1-: 80 Nm plus additional 90° turn.

-

Slip outer joint of drive axle into wheel hub and hand-tighten new hex bolt.

Note:  Remove any residual adhesive from threads of joint pins.

Insert both joint pins of upper links in wheel bearing housing.

-

Tighten new self-locking nuts -1- to 40 Nm.

-

Press down upper links as far as possible while tightening nuts.

-

Install ABS speed sensor.

-

Install brake disc, brake caliper.

-

Install wheel and tighten to 120 Nm.
