Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Service and Repair

Return Spring With Slip Ring, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torx screwdriver T8 T 40056

-

Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A

Removing:
-

Drivers side airbag unit (standard steering wheel), removing.

-

Drivers side airbag unit (sport steering wheel), removing.

-

Drivers side airbag unit (multi-function steering wheel), removing.

-

Steering wheel, standard, removing.

-

Steering wheel, sport, removing.

-

Steering wheel, multi-function, removing.

-

Pull steering column all the way out and down.

-

Remove Torx bolts - 3 - and - 5 - with Torx Screwdriver T 40056 as well as hex socket head bolt - 4 -.
Tightening torque: 1 Nm

-

Disconnect upper steering column switch trim - 2 - from lower trim - 1 - and remove both parts.
