Remove cover for tie rod.

Open clamps - arrows - (spring-type clip and clip with lug fastener) on boot.

Pull boot outward as far as possible.

Remove tie rod using open jaw torque wrench insert V.A.G 1923.
Installing

Install and tighten tie rod.

When installing rubber boot, make sure that:

The smaller diameter of the rubber boot clamps into groove on the tie rod
-
The boot is not twisted.

Replace clamps (spring-type clip and clip with lug fastener).

Install tie rod cover.
-
Align tie rod so that the stub of the tie rod joint is in the installation position.

Insert tie rod into steering arm to stop.
Note:

Only install the tie rod into the Steering arm - 1 - by hand, do not apply pressure to seal - 2 - on tie rod joint.
