1 - Locking cable

Installing

Installation is performed in reverse sequence. Note the following:
-

Route locking cable behind instrument panel brace - arrow - without kinking.

-

Turn ignition key to ignition on position.

-

Insert locking cable - 1 - into starter switch.

-

Check that locking device - 2 - engages.

-

Turn starter switch to locked position (ignition off).

-

Make sure that selector lever is in position "P".

Hook eye of locking cable onto pin - 3

-

Lift up securing spring - 4 - slightly.

-

Insert locking cable support bracket - 5 - into selector mechanism from the right. Push it in so that securing spring - 4 engages.

-

Adjust locking cable.

-

Install selector mechanism cover.

-

Install ashtray in center console.

-

Install air conditioning operating unit.

-

Install steering column cover.

-

Install storage compartment on drivers side.

-

Follow steps required after connecting battery.
