Deeper locking groove in lower section of armrest as of June 1998 beginning with VIN: 8D_WA240851.

Service

Apply a layer of protective tape on lid as shown.

-

Using a small file, carefully file locking pawl (latch) on the release button -arrows- by no more than 0.5 mm.

Note:

To ensure complete closing of the armrest lid do not remove too much material
