Ultrasonic Sensor: Service and Repair
Corrective Repair Steps

If malfunctions occur to Ultrasonic Interior Monitoring  system, repair as follows:

-

Check switch deactivation. See: Testing and Inspection

-

Check wiring See  Wiring Diagram Troubleshooting and Component Location.

-

Perform interior monitor diagnosis. See: Testing and Inspection

-

Evaluate diagnosis according to diagnostic table, refer to "Interior Monitoring, Diagnosis" See: Testing and Inspection and repair accordingly.

Sensors, replacing

-

Replace sensors. See: Interior Monitoring Sensors, Removing/Installing

-

Visually inspect for irregularities (e.g. connections).

-

Replace sensors - do not install B pillar trim.

-

Perform diagnosis. Refer to "Interior Monitoring, Diagnosis". See: Testing and Inspection

-

To check function refer to "Interior Monitoring, Functional Check". See: Testing and Inspection

Removed sensors, diagnosis

-

Reinstall one used sensor.

-

Perform diagnosis. Refer to "Interior Monitoring, Diagnosis". See: Testing and Inspection

-

To check function refer to "Interior Monitoring, Functional Check". See: Testing and Inspection

-

Reinstall second used sensor.

-

Perform diagnosis. Refer to "Interior Monitoring, Diagnosis". See: Testing and Inspection

-

To check function refer to "Interior Monitoring, Functional Check". See: Testing and Inspection

-

Based on test results, replace sensors (s) if necessary.

-

Install sensors and B pillar trim.

If both tests show a malfunction replace Control Module. See: Interior Monitoring Control Module, Removing/Installing

Control Module, removing

-

Remove Control Module. See: Interior Monitoring Control Module, Removing/Installing

-

Install new Control module.

-

To check function refer to "Interior Monitoring, Functional Check". See: Testing and Inspection

If both tests are not OK, check wiring according to latest Wiring Diagram:

Terminal assignments for Control Module Connector, See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm

Repair wiring.
