Do not apply a chisel or similar tool between Steering arm - 1 - and seal - 2 - on tie rod ball joint when pressing out tie rod, otherwise the seal
can be damaged.

When pressing tie rod out of Steering arm, apply pressure only to end of tie rod ball joint or knock out end of joint using a wooden or rubber
mallet.

Secure wheel bearing housing - 1 - on left side of vehicle to suspension strut - 3 - with the aid of a securing strap - 2 -.

Remove speed nut - arrow -.

Pry out clips.

Detach electrical wire.

Remove plastic cover.

On vehicles with 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder engines, heat shield on drivers side must be removed.

On vehicles with 6-cylinder engines, the starter catalytic converter must be removed in order to remove the heat shield on the drivers side.

On vehicles with 8-cylinder engines, the front exhaust pipe must be removed in order to remove heat shield on drivers side.

Loosen bolt - 1 - approximately one turn.

Remove bolts - 2 - and - 3 -.

Swivel steering gear forward in direction of travel on drivers side.

Place a drip tray underneath to catch hydraulic fluid.
