7. Place a suitable catch basin below heater core connection "A", then blow coolant out of heater core with compressed air through connection "B".
8. Remove A/C system vacuum supply hose from engine, then connect the A/C system vacuum supply hose to heater core inlet/outlet.
9. Remove heater core inlet/outlet boot.

10. Remove bolt , then the refrigerant lines from evaporator Fig. 24. Plug refrigerant lines and connections at evaporator to prevent dirt and moisture

contamination.

11. Remove evaporator boot, Fig. , then disconnect low pressure switch electrical connection.
12. Remove instrument panel along with heater and A/C unit as outlined in "Dash Panel Service".
13. Place instrument panel with heater and A/C unit on a clean covered work bench to avoid damage.
14. Separate evaporator housing from heater housing, Fig. 29.
15. Separate evaporator hosing top and bottom halves, then remove the evaporator core ,Fig. 30
16. Reverse procedure to install.
