Examine left flange shaft for burrs and sharp edges at shaft end on transmission side -arrow- and deburr, if necessary.

Install left flange shaft into transmission.

NOTE:  When installing the left flange shaft, guide it carefully by hand to avoid damaging the double seal in the transmission.

Check gear oil in final drive and top up, refer to Checking/Topping Up Oil Level.

Tighten the following components to:

Mounting bracket for left flange shaft to transmission: 23 Nm (17 ft lb)
Drive shaft to flange shaft: 80 Nm (59 ft lb)
Drive shaft to wheel hub:

14 mm stretch bolts (replace): 115 Nm (85 ft lb) + 90°
16 mm stretch bolts (replace): 190 Nm (140 ft lb) + 90°

Heat shield to transmission: 23 Nm (17 ft lb)
