Head Rest: Removal and Replacement

Backrest Without Active Head Restraint System, Removing And Installing Four-way Lumbar Support

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

-

Special pop rivet pliers V.A.G 1753A

Removing

CAUTION:  Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.

Remove front seat.

-

Remove the seat backrest panel.

-

Pry fastening strips - 6 - (Qty. 4) out with a screwdriver.

-

Insert foil between upholstery and backrest frame to protect against metal particles.

-

Drill out rivet - 5 -.

-

Disconnect electrical connectors at lumbar support curvature and height adjustment motors - 4 - and - 7 -.
