Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Torque wrench (V.A.G 1410)

‹› Brake pedal actuator (V.A.G 1869/2)

‹› Piston resetting tool (T10145)

‹› Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)

Removing

‹› Mark the brake pads when removing them if they are to be reused. Reinstall in their original position to prevent uneven braking.

Remove the wheels and tires.

On vehicles equipped with a brake pad wear indicator, disconnect the electrical connector - 1 -.

-

Lift the locating lug slightly on the lower part of connector -  2 - and turn 90 degrees.

-

Pull the connector lower part out of the bracket.

-

Raise the vehicle.

-

Remove the securing bolts from the brake caliper housing, while counter holding the guide pins.
