Remove the parking brake lever - 2 - from the plate.
Reset the adjusting mechanism

Clamp one of the spring loaded hooks in a vise.

Release the mechanism with a screwdriver - 2 -, at the same time pressing back the second spring loaded hook with another screwdriver.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal.

Insert the parking brake cable into the compensator. (vehicles with Front Wheel Drive (FWD)).
