Vehicle Information

RVU - Replacement of crankcase ventilation valve (CR)

Condition

This RVU has been proactively released to prevent and correct the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:

MIL on, and one or more of following DTCs are stored in ECM data memory:

-

P1297 (Connection charger-throttle valve, pressure loss).

-

P2187 (Fuel trim bank 1, system too lean at idle speed).

-

P2279 (Intake air system leak).

This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect for 15 months from date of publication. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.

Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:

-

Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the CR/17C4 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.

Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.

-

Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.

-

Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.

Technical Background

The conditions described may be caused by a malfunction of the crankcase ventilation system pressure regulating valve.

Service

Remove and Inspect crankcase ventilation system pressure regulating valve and hose for part number.
