Passenger Occupant Detection Sensor Safety Precautions

CAUTION!

After each repair on front passenger's seat during which the seat and/or the backrest cover is disengaged, a RE-ZERO procedure
must be performed on the seat occupied recognition control module.

The seat occupied recognition mat must not be kinked.

‹›

A leaking mat must be replaced (service kit).

‹›

The seat occupied recognition pressure hose must not be kinked.

‹›

Make sure components of seat occupied recognition system do not fall onto hard surfaces, do not come into contact with grease and do
not risk damage by resting against sharp objects.

‹›

The mat, the crease and various covers must be fitted to be free of folds.

‹›

When installing, make sure seat cushion and seat cover are positioned correctly.

‹›

Replace the various cushion clamps and clips and verify their correct positioning on the seat.

‹›

Basic setting of the system is only possible between temperatures of 32° F and 40° F (0°C and +40°C).

‹›

Make sure that no objects are placed on seat when performing basic setting.

‹›

The use of additional seat cushions - such as pillows etc. - impairs the function of the seat occupied recognition system and thereby the
operation of the airbag system.
