Measure and note thickness of removed circlip.

‹› When installing, circlip must be replaced with a new circlip of same thickness.

Lay input shaft cover - 1 - on pressure stand Pressure stand (T40099) and place under hydraulic press.

Press ball bearing with tube (VW 416 B) out of input shaft cover.

‹› In some cases, ball bearing can also be pressed out by hand without hydraulic press.

‹› Ball bearing must be replaced.

Installing

Check cover sealing surface - arrow - and cover for damage:

‹› Surface of sealing surfaces must not show any damage.

‹› Input shaft cover must not be broken cracked.
