Fluid Line/Hose: Removal and Replacement
01J Transmission
ATF Breather Pipe
‹› If Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) flows out at the underside of the transmission bellhousing, the input shaft seal and/or the ATF breather
pipe may be leaking. Before replacing any parts, be sure to find the actual cause of the malfunction.
‹› Input shaft seal must be replaced if leaking. Refer to => [ Input Shaft Seal ] See: Seals and Gaskets/Service and Repair/Removal and

‹› ATF breather pipe must be replaced if leaking.

Information.
Removing
‹› Transmission removed.

Remove bolt - B -.
-
Pull the ATF breather pipe - A - out of the mount.
‹› If a ATF leak is determined from the check hole behind the ATF breather pipe - A -, slightly below bolt - B -, the transmission is malfunctioning
and must be replaced.
Installing
Installation is in the reverse order of removal, note the following:

Insert the new ATF breather pipe - A - until it fully seats.

Tighten the ATF breather pipe with strap and bolt - B - on the transmission housing.
