‹› Installed position => [ Location of spacer and spring washer (wheel side) ] 

6 - Spacer ring (plastic)

‹› Only present on certain versions

‹› Installed position => [ Location of spacer and spring washer (wheel side) ] 

7 - Securing ring

‹› Always replace

‹› Insert before mounting in ring groove (not visible with joint installed) 

8 - Outer constant velocity joint

‹› Replace only as complete unit

‹› Pressing off => [ Driving outer CV joint down ] 

‹› Installing:

‹› Drive joint onto shaft with a plastic hammer until circlip engages. 

‹› Greasing => [ Peened Triple Roller Joint AAR 2600 i or 3300 i Assembly Overview ] See: 

‹› When installing joint on axle shaft, splines on axle shaft must be lightly coated with grease used in joint.

9 - Bolt

‹› Always replace after removal

‹› Loosen => [ Remove drive axle ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Suspension

‹› Fastening => [ Install drive axle ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Suspension

‹› Tightening specification => [ Install drive axle ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Suspension

10 - Clamp

‹› Different versions for protective joint boot in rubber or Hytrel

‹› Replace

11 - CV boot for outer constant velocity (CV) joint 

‹› Check for tears and scuffing

‹› Before clamping hose clamps, raise protective joint boot briefly to balance pressure => [ Venting CV boot ] 

‹› Different version in rubber or Hytrel.
