If installed, loosen quick release fasteners - 3 - and remove rear sound insulation - B -.

Disconnect exhaust system at clamp - 2 -.
‹› The flexible pipe connection (coupling element) in the front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10 degrees otherwise it can be damaged.

Remove tunnel crossmember (front) - 1 - - arrows -.

Remove heat shield for exhaust system - 4 - from below selector mechanism.

Remove universal transmission mounting (VAG 1359/2 ) from engine and transmission jack (VAG 1383 A) and place a wooden block - arrow -
on press tool instead.
