Transmission Control Module

Removing

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) (J217) can be removed with the transmission installed.

Remove the end cover. Refer to => [ End Cover, with Transmission Removed ] See: Continuously Variable Transmission/Transaxle/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/01J Transmission/End Cover, With Transmission Removed.

Remove bolts - arrows - and pull out the Transmission Control Module (TCM) (J217) without tilting it.

Remove the twin lip oil seal - A - from the TCM. 

‹› When positioning the TCM, ensure the sensor on the control module is not damaged.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal, note the following:

‹› Replace gaskets and O-rings.

If necessary, clean the sensors - A -, -  C - and - D - of contamination and metal shavings.
