Cleaning ATF pipes

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782-

t	Hose, approx. 18 mm dia.

t	Compressed air gun (commercially available)

t	Safety goggles

Procedure

Note

Rules for cleanliness when working on the automatic gearbox → Chapter.

–	Before fitting a replacement gearbox, always blow through the ATF cooler and ATF lines with compressed air (not more than 10 bar).

Note

If the ATF which emerges during cleaning is very dirty, the ATF cooler and ATF lines must additionally be flushed out with clean ATF.
