Rear final drive identification
The rear final drive 0BC is installed in conjunction with the following gearbox types:
t  6-speed manual gearbox 0B2, four-wheel drive
t  6-speed manual gearbox 0B4, four-wheel drive
t  7-speed dual clutch gearbox 0B5, four-wheel drive
t  Automatic gearbox 0B6, four-wheel drive
t  8-speed automatic gearbox 0BK, four-wheel drive
t  8-speed automatic gearbox 0BW, four-wheel drive (Q5 hybrid only)

  Note
t  The designation „0AR“ always appears on the rear final drive housing. The distinguishing features for final drives „0BC“ and „0AR“ are housing modifications.

t  An additional distinguishing feature is the position of the tapped holes -arrows- used to secure the cross member to the rear final drive.
t  On the final drive unit „0BC“ there are 4 tapped holes -arrows- in the final drive housing for securing the cross member. There is also an additional tapped hole below the propshaft flange, for securing the final drive to the subframe.

When installing a new rear final drive unit, it is important to verify not only the code letters but also the PR No. and the engine code of the vehicle in the → Electronic parts catalogue. This is necessary to ensure that the correct version is installed.
