Removing and installing engine mounting (right-side)
Removing and installing engine mounting (right-side)
  Note
t  Renew engine mountings on both sides together.
t  Also renew corresponding brackets.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Support bracket -10 - 222 A-

Removing
–  Pull off rear engine cover panel -top arrows-.

–  Set up support bracket -10 - 222 A- on suspension turrets (left and right) as illustrated.
–  Attach spindle -10 - 222 A /11- to engine lifting eye (right-side) and apply slight tension.

–  Remove front right wheel.
–  Remove front wheel housing liner (right-side) → Rep. Gr.66.
–  Remove front noise insulation -1- → Rep. Gr.66.

–  Unscrew nut -1- and detach bracket with electrical wiring from subframe.

–  Remove bolts -1, 2, 4- and move clear retaining plate -3- for engine mounting (right-side).

–  Vehicles with multitronic gearbox 0AW/automatic gearbox 0B6: remove bolt -arrow- at bracket for ATF pipes.

–  Using spindle -10 - 222 A /11-, raise engine through distance -a-.
l  Distance -a- = approx. 20 mm.
–  Detach engine mounting (right-side).
Installing
l  Tightening torques → Chapter
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  Install wheel housing liner and noise insulation → Rep. Gr.66.
–  Fit front wheel → Rep. Gr.44.
