Removing and installing intermediate pipe (left-side)

Removing –  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

–  If fitted, pull out oil dipstick -1-. –  Loosen hose clip -3- and remove air hose. –  Unplug electrical connector -4-. –  Remove bolts -2- and detach throttle valve module -J338--item 5-.

–  Disconnect coolant hose -3- from coolant expansion tank. –  Remove bolts -arrows- and move coolant expansion tank to side with coolant hoses -1- and -2- attached.

–  Remove bolt (accessible from above) -top left arrow- securing intermediate pipe to exhaust manifold.

–  Remove rear noise insulation panel -2- → Rep. gr.66.

–  Remove noise insulation -1- in wheel housing (left-side).

–  Detach drive shaft (left-side) from flange shaft of gearbox → Rep. gr.40.

–  Remove remaining bolts and nuts securing intermediate pipe to exhaust manifold -arrows- and detach intermediate pipe (left-side). Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: l  Tightening torque → Chapter   Note Renew seals, gaskets, O-rings and self-locking nuts. –  Secure drive shaft (left-side) to flange shaft of gearbox → Rep. gr.40. –  Install noise insulation panels → Rep. gr.66. –  Install throttle valve module -J338- → Rep. gr.23.
