Removing and installing engine oil cooler (front)
Removing and installing engine oil cooler (front)
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782-
  W00-10211
t  Engine bung set -VAS 6122-
  W00-10435
Removing
–  Remove bumper cover (front) → Rep. gr.63.
–  Unclip air duct -1- on both sides.

–  Release catches -arrows A- and detach air duct -1- on left and right -arrow B-.

–  Position used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782- below engine.
–  Remove bolt -1- on both sides and detach oil pipe.
–  Unscrew bolts -2- on both sides and remove engine oil cooler (front).
–  Seal off open pipes/lines and connections with clean plugs from engine bung set -VAS 6122-.
  Note
Disregard -items 3, 4-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torques → Chapter „Engine oil cooler - exploded view“
  Note
Fit new O-rings.
–  Install bumper cover (front) → Rep. gr.63.
