Disengage the sides of the cover from the spring and remove it back from the retaining pins.
Gas-Filled Strut, Disengaging

Lift the retaining springs - arrow - on the gas-filled strut - 1 - slightly using a small screwdriver and remove it from the ball stud - 2 -.
Lid hinge end stop

To remove, press the retainer on the clip to the side.
