C-Pillar Trim

C-Pillar Trim

‹› Removal and installation are same for right and left.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

Removing

CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

Fold the backrest forward.

-

Versions with a sun shade: Unclip the sun shade guide trim - 1 - using a screwdriver and remove it.

Pry the "Airbag" symbol - 2 - approximately 5 mm out of the expanding clip using a screwdriver.

Unclip the C-pillar trim - item 3 - using the Trim Removal Wedge (3409) - arrow A -. 

-

Pull the C-pillar trim out of the rear shelf and the side trim - B arrows - and remove it.

Installing

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

‹› Do not pinch the side curtain airbag when installing the C-pillar trim. 

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

‹› If the trim clamps remain in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the trim.

‹› Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

Position the C-pillar trim first on the rear shelf and then the side trim.

-

Press the C-pillar trim on until it engages audibly.

Versions with a sun shade: Make sure the holes in the C-pillar trim - 2 - engage on the centering pins - arrow - on the sun shade guide rail - 1 -.
