Power Standard Front Seat with or without Memory Function

Forward/Back Adjustment Motor

‹› The seat forward/back adjustment motor can only be replaced together with the seat pan lower frame.

Removing

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

‹› Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static

electricity ". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Remove front seat:

‹› Standard seat, sport seat (power) and comfort seat: => [ Power Standard Front Seats ].  See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Power

Standard Front Seat with or without Memory Function

Attach front seat to Fixture For Seat Repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat, Installing on VAS 6136 ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Seat Versions Overview.

‹› The upper and lower seat pan frames can only be separated and connected when the upholstery is removed.

‹› The seat position sensor must be installed in the new seat pan lower frame.

Remove the seat position sensor:

‹› => [ Seat Position Sensor, with Seat Occupied Sensor for Belt Fastening Detection ] See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Seat Position

Separate the seat pan upper frame from the lower frame. Refer to => [ Upper and Lower Frames, Separating ] See: Service and Repair/Removal
and Replacement/Power Standard Front Seat with or without Memory Function.

Installing

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

‹› Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static

electricity ". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

‹› Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.

CAUTION!
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may
deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. 

‹› If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
