Backrest Lock Switch, Adjusting, refer to => [ Adjusting the backrest lock switch ].

Backrest Forward Stop Switch, Adjusting, refer to => [ Adjusting the backrest forward stop switch ].

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Gauge (T40179) through part number 8T0 959 760

‹› Spacer sleeve (T40180)

‹› Gauge (T40181) from part number 8T0 959 760B

‹› Check the part number of the passenger memory seat control module (J521) and the memory seat/steering column adjustment control module

(J136). The gauge (T40179) must be used through part number 8T0 959 760 and the gauge (T40181) must be used from part number 8T0 959
760B.

Adjusting the backrest lock switch

CAUTION!
‹› The distance between the pins - 3 - and the tab - 4 - on the backrest lock switch must be checked with the backrest locked.

‹› Do not damage the tab - 4 - when sliding the spacer sleeve (T40180) on.

Slide the spacer sleeve (T40180) onto the pins - 3 - as far as the stop.

‹› The spacer sleeve (T40180) and tab - 4 - must touch each other but must not activate the backrest lock switch - 2 -.

CAUTION!
If the spacer sleeve (T40180) does not touch the tab or if it activates the backrest lock switch, the switch must be adjusted.
