Brake Fluid Reservoir

Removing

-

Remove plenum chamber cover 

-

Disconnect electrical connector from brake fluid level warning switch (F34).

-

Remove brake fluid reservoir cover over brake fluid reservoir => [ Brake Fluid Reservoir Cover ] See: Brake Fluid Reservoir Cover.

To protect against escaping brake fluid, place enough lint-free cloths in area below master brake cylinder.

-

Extract as much brake fluid as possible from brake fluid reservoir with brake filler/bleeder unit (VAS 5234) and adapter (VAS 5234/1A).

With manual transmissions, remove clutch hydraulic line - 5 - from brake fluid reservoir and seal it.

CAUTION!
‹› Do not, under any circumstances, allow brake fluid to come into contact with any fluids containing mineral oil (oil, gasoline, cleaning

solvents). Mineral oil damages the sealing plugs and boots of the brake system.

‹› Brake fluid is poisonous. NEVER siphon brake fluid with your mouth! Also due to its corrosive effect, brake fluid must not come into

contact with paint.

‹› Observe disposal regulations.

Unclip brake fluid reservoir on side of brake master cylinder.
