Diagnostic Procedures
Camshaft Adjustment Actuators, Right Bank 1, Checking
The following procedure is used to diagnose Cam Adjustment Actuators (F366, F367, F368, F369, F370, F371) which are controlled by Engine
Control Module (J623).
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› multimeter.
‹› Wiring diagram.
Test requirements
‹› The Engine Control Module (J623) fuses OK.
‹› Battery voltage at least 12.5 volts.
‹› All electrical consumers such as, lights and rear window defroster, switched off.
‹› Vehicles with automatic transmission, shift selector lever into position " P" or "N".
‹› A/C switched off.
‹› Ground (GND) connections between engine/transmission/chassis OK.
‹› Ignition switched off.
Test procedure

Perform a preliminary check to verify the customers complaint. Refer to => [ Preliminary Check ] See: Powertrain Management/Computers and
Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool Testing and Procedures/Preliminary Check.
Start diagnosis

Disconnect appropriate Cam Adjustment Actuator (F366, F367, F368, F369, F370, F371) electrical harness connectors - 9,8,7,6,5,4 -.
Checking internal resistance
-
Using a multimeter, check the Cam Adjustment Actuators (F366, F367, F368, F369, F370, F371) for resistance.
