Removal and Installation

Wheel Bearing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)

‹› Torque wrench (V.A.G 1576)

Removing

-

Remove drive axle => [ Drive Axle ] See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Suspension/Drive Axle.

Insert both of upper control arm joint pins - 2 - in wheel bearing housing and insert bolt - 1 -.

‹› This step is necessary to avoid damage to suspension components when loosening and tightening the cap screws.

Remove brake caliper and secure to body so that the weight of the brake caliper does not stress or damage brake hose or brake line.

Remove disc brake.

Remove front wheel speed sensor.

Remove cap screws - arrows -.
