Front Passenger Knee Airbag Igniter

Removing

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

‹› Follow the disposal regulations for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Pyrotechnic Restraint System Component Disposal ] See:

Service and Repair.

Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on. 

CAUTION!
Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static
electricity ". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Remove the bolts - arrows - and lower the knee airbag from the bracket slightly.

Disconnect the yellow knee airbag electrical connector - arrow -.

Pull the locking mechanism - 2 - in the - direction of the arrow - and disconnect the electrical connectors - 1 - and - 3 -.
