Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:
‹› Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.
‹› For proper crash sensor (pressure sensor) function, ensure door does not leak.
‹› All components (e.g. cover, speaker, door trim) must be installed correctly.
‹› The door trim clips seal the system. Replace door trim clip if necessary.
‹› Ensure wires are not pinched.
CAUTION!
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may
deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on.
‹› If the airbag malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again.

Removing
CAUTION!

Switch the ignition on.

Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.

Remove side trim. Refer to => [ Side Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Interior Trim.
CAUTION!
Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static
electricity ". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Disconnect the connector - 4 - by releasing the locking mechanism - 1 - - arrow -.

Remove the nuts - 3 - and the side airbag crash sensors - 2 -.
