Seat Occupied Sensor

‹› The Front Passenger's Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) is only installed in front passenger's seat.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hot air gun 220 V/50 Hz (VAS 1978/14) only for comfort seats

Removing

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

‹› Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static

electricity ". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Switch the ignition on.

Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.

Remove front passenger's seat:

‹› Standard seat and sport seat (manual) => [ Manual Standard Front Seats ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Manual Standard Front Seats.

‹› Standard seat, sport seat (power) and comfort seat => [ Power Standard Front Seats ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Power Standard Front Seat with or without Memory Function.

‹› Super sport seat => [ Super Sport Front Seats ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Power Super Sport

Front Seat with or without Memory Function.

Attach front seat to Fixture For Seat Repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat, Installing on VAS 6136 ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service
and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Seat Versions Overview.

Separate the cover from the upholstery (seat pan) => [ Cover and Upholstery, Seat Pan without Seat Cushion Extension, Separating and
Connecting ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Overhaul/Front Seat Covers and Upholstery.

‹› Remove the upholstery from the rear part of the cover until the seat occupied sensor is freed up.
