Vehicle Alignment Procedure Overview

‹› Vehicle must only be measured at empty weight => [ Wheel Alignment Test Prerequisites ]! See: Wheel Alignment Test Prerequisites 

‹› Check which suspension is installed in the vehicle. This information can be found on the vehicle data plate => [ PR Number Explanations ] See:

Application and ID.

Observe the Following Work Sequence!

If necessary, check steering rack center position => [ Rack, Checking Mechanical Center Position ] See: Rack, Checking Mechanical Center
Position.

Perform wheel run-out compensation => [ Rim Run-Out Compensation ] See: Rim Run-Out Compensation.

Check front axle camber and adjust if necessary => [ Front Axle Camber, Checking and Adjusting ] See: Front Axle Camber, Checking and
Adjusting.

Check rear axle camber and adjust if necessary => [ Rear Axle Camber, Adjusting ] See: Rear Axle Camber, Adjusting.

Check rear axle toe and adjust if necessary => [ Rear Axle Toe, Adjusting ] See: Rear Axle Toe, Adjusting.

Check front axle toe angle and adjust if necessary => [ Front Axle Toe, Adjusting ] See: Front Axle Toe, Adjusting.

If adjustments have been made on front axle, calibrate dynamic steering => [ Dynamic Steering Calibration Procedure ] See: Steering/Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning.=> vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.

If adjustments have been made on front axle, perform a zero adjustment on steering angle sensor (G85) => vehicle diagnosis, testing and
information system VAS 5051.

If adjustments have been made on rear axle, calibrate dynamic steering => [ Dynamic Steering Calibration Procedure ] See: Steering/Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning.=> vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.

If adjustments have been made on rear axle, calibrate adaptive cruise control => [ Diagnosis and Testing ], and/or lane assist => [ Lane Assist
Calibration Procedure ] See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Collision Avoidance and Parking Assist Systems/Testing and Inspection/Lane
Assist Calibration Procedure.
