‹› "Gear" measured value on the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B)

‹› Selector lever position

‹› Selector lever transmission range position display unit (Y26) on the shift mechanism

‹› Transmission range display (Y6) in the instrument cluster

Conditions:

‹› The displays must match

If the displays do not match:

-

Adjust selector lever cable. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] See: Adjustments.

If the individual displays cannot be reached by adjusting the selector lever cable:

Selector lever cable, bringing into basic setting:

‹› Tightening specification. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable Assembly Overview ] See: Removal and Replacement/Selector Lever Cable

Assembly Overview.

Carefully pry the side of the selector lever boot retaining frame - 1 - out of the center console - arrows - using the trim removal wedge (3409) and
fold it upward.

Place selector lever in position "D".

Through opening - arrow - in shift mechanism, loosen bolt on selector lever cable approximately one turn using Socket (T40031).
