Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Clean the bell housing in the transition area to the differential - arrow A - and the shaft seal - arrow B - thoroughly. 

‹› Replace the shaft seal between the differential and transmission housing - arrow B - if it is damaged. Refer to => [ Front Final Drive Assembly

Fill area between sealing lip and dust lip halfway with sealing grease (G 052 128 A1).

Clean splines on the input shaft - 2 - and the torque converter, remove corrosion and apply a very thin layer of clutch disc spline grease (G 000
100) to the splines. Excess grease must be removed.

Slide torque converter onto input shaft - arrow - using the extractor (T40176) without tilting the converter.
