Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

Left Exhaust Manifold, Removing And Installing

Removing

-

Remove left front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter.

-

Remove threaded connection -1- at heat shield which is accessible from top

-

Unscrew threaded connection -2- which is accessible from bottom and remove heat shield.

-

Unscrew threaded connection -1- of exhaust manifold which is accessible from top.

-

Remove nuts -2- from bottom and remove heat shield bracket.

-

Remove nut -3- and remove exhaust manifold.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

NOTE:  Replace gaskets and self-locking nuts.

Install left front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter.

-

Align exhaust system tension-free.

Tightening torque
