IMPORTANT: Make sure no cable/wire lies upon the gas generator. Make sure that the air bag cable is not pinched. Route air bag cable to the
left in a loop.

Secure air bag unit to steering wheel with Torx bolt T30 -3- and hand tighten

Turn steering wheel back one half-turn, secure air bag to steering wheel with second Torx bolt T 30 -3- and tighten to 7 Nm (58 in. lbs.)

Turn steering wheel back one half-turn and tighten other Torx bolt T30 -3- to 7 Nm (58 in. lbs.)

Turn ignition switch to the "ON" position

Reconnect ground cable (GND) to the negative (-) battery terminal and torque bolt to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.)
WARNING: Make certain that no one is inside the vehicle when connecting the battery ground cable

After reconnecting vehicle battery on vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar, switch on the emergency (back-up) battery for the
Telematic/Telephone Control Module
NOTE: If air bag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 signals a malfunction after installation, DTC memory must be interrogated, erased and
once again interrogated using VAS5051 tester.

Set time on clock

It is imperative that the removed complete air bag unit is not deflated. It must be properly identified and placed in the box, which contained the
replacement unit and temporarily stored for further instructions.
