Brake Light Switch: Adjustments

Brake light switch -F-, adjusting 

Before adjusting, pedal cluster must be bolted tightly to brake booster and instrument panel carrier.
For pedal bracket with internal thread for mounting brake light switch

1. Brake light switch
2. Hex-nut, M12x 1.5 Part No. N 011 020 8
3. Brake pedal

Note:  A spring washer, Part No N 012 042 4 (not shown in illustration) is installed between nut -2- and pedal bracket.

Turn brake light switch to adjust inward or outward as necessary to obtain dimension -A- = 0.1 - 0.5 mm, lock in place with nut and tighten nut to 
4.5 Nm.

Check dimension -A- again after tightening nut.

For spring clip mounted brake light switch 

1. Brake pedal contact surface
2. Spring clip

Insert in pedal bracket from rear

3. Pedal bracket
4. Brake light switch -F

a - Specified dimension: max. 0.7 mm

Note: In order to assure sufficiently secure fitting, switch must not be installed more than once.
