Battery With Charge Indicator
Characteristics
-
These batteries have a charge indicator.
-
The charge indicator (arrow) gives information regarding the acid level and the charge level of the battery to be checked.
-
Three different color indications are possible:
-
Green -> the battery is sufficiently charged.
-
Black -> no charge or charge too low.
-
Transparent or yellow -> critical acid level has been reached, distilled water must be topped up.
NOTE: Please observe that if the battery is older than 5 years and the color indication of the charge indicator is transparent, that the battery should be
replaced with a new one.
Test sequence
NOTE:
-
Especially if a battery was re-charged, i.e. even if the battery was charged during driving operation , air bubbles can form below the charge
indicator. These corrupt the color indication of the charge indicator.
-
If batteries are equipped with sealing plugs because of production technical reasons, they are covered in plastic foil.
-
Before performing a visual check, lightly and carefully tap onto charge indicator using a screwdriver handle.
-
This will cause the air bubbles to disappear
-
Read color indication of the "charge indicator".
